Seaforth Farm
Ideally situated for that perfect holiday retreat, it is easily accessible from the N2 highway, only 30 minutes from Durban and en route to Zululand.
Seaforth Farm is a historical old farm, close to the famous Shaka's Rock. It is situated on high ground overlooking Salt Rock. It was first owned by the Bishop of Zululand, father of Sir Liege Hulett who founded the South African sugar industry. Seaforth was the first school in the area, opened in 1858 by Mr Hulett and his daughters.
Trevor and Sharneen welcome you to their tastefully decorated family home, with private, spacious, comfortable bedrooms. The home is always decorated with imaginative floral works, mostly picked from the huge sub tropical gardens. Sharneen is a well known local artist, both in watercolours as well as floral art.
Set in amongst the palm trees and greenery, is a stunning pool area where guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy the facilities offered. These include the pool room lounge, the magnificent sundeck, and the birdhide overlooking the dam. A comprehensive breakfast including delectable Farm produce is served.
Trevor thoroughly enjoys showing his guests around on a late afternoon walk, where they are introduced to the very tame Brahman Stud cattle. Trevor is also an excellent woods craftsman and some of his works are incorporated in the furnishing of the house. Several excellent restaurants are close by, as well as sport facilities such as golf and tennis. For more information on the North Coast area, visit the Dolphin Coast.
